The people I trust and am willing to take advice from are those that conduct themselves with integrity, are committed to learning and growth, demonstrate that they practice what they teach, and treat me as an important and valued human being...I aspire to be the same toward those around me.

As a Naturopathic Doctor, I believe in treating the cause of disease, instead of just its' symptoms. The body functions as one unit, and each organ system depends on one another to work and heal properly. Whether it's digestive problems, hormone imbalances, eczema, food sensitivities, infertility, migraines, or insomnia, I research my patients' cases, collaborate with other doctors when necessary, and perform diagnostic tests in order to determine where the root of the disease began. From this research, I can recommend dietary changes, natural remedies, acupuncture, and lifestyle counselling to allow the body to heal itself.

In addition to my practice in Oak Ridges, I'm also passionate about promoting wellness in the workplace because a good balance between home and work plays a big part in optimizing your health. From 2004-2013, I was the on-site Naturopathic Doctor for over 1500 head office employees at the Canadian Tire Corporation at Yonge and Eglinton where I saw patients one-on-one as well as offered educational seminars in a group setting. I have also been invited to many corporate workshops to speak on my favourite topics: macro-based eating and intermittent fasting.

Choosing Naturopathic Medicine means choosing a natural and lasting direction towards health. When you are ready for this next part of life's challenges, I will be there to guide you on your journey. The hard work will be yours, but it will all be worth it.

Dr. Misa's Toolbox:

Growing up in Waterloo, Dr. Misa remembers safe and friendly neighbourhoods, children playing hockey on the street, local parks, farmer's markets, nearby forests and walking trails. These are also what attracted Dr. Misa to choose to live in Oak Ridges/Richmond Hill with her husband and their two daughters.

Dr. Misa enjoys tough conditioning workouts at Validus Fitness (formerly CrossFit Ark) and is also a fitness coach at their facility.  Her other loves are gardening and sewing, and can be found browsing for deals at Fabricland and Sheridan Nurseries.
